I've been hearing a lot about Ginger shots lately and wanted to know the health benefits, how to make them, and how much I should be taking every day. So I asked Memios, "How do you make a lemon ginger shot? What are the health benefits of each ingredient and how much should I take every day?"

Here are the results:

How to Make a Lemon Ginger Shot

Ingredients:

  •  1 large lemon (juiced) – about 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  •  1-2 inches of fresh ginger root (peeled and chopped)
  •  1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder (or a small piece of fresh turmeric) (optional for extra anti-inflammatory benefits)
  •  1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for metabolism boost)
  •  1 teaspoon raw honey (optional for sweetness and throat-soothing benefits)
  •  1/4 cup water (adjust as needed for consistency)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients – Peel and chop the ginger, then juice the lemon.
  2. Blend – Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Strain – Pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove pulp.
  4. Serve – Pour into a small shot glass and enjoy immediately!
